Is this EV course recognised?
Yes. The certification is issued under DIYguru, which is aligned with the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) and partners with the Skill India Mission. Employers across EV OEMs, dealerships, and charging operators in Tamil Nadu accept this certification for technician, battery repair, and service advisor roles. The course also helps in registering as an MSME service unit.
I don't have an engineering background. Can I still join?
Absolutely. Most of our Madurai learners are ITI, diploma, or 12th-pass students with basic interest in two-wheelers, autos, or electrical work. The course starts from fundamentals like DC circuits, battery basics, and motor types, then moves to hands-on EV diagnostics. No prior engineering degree is required, just willingness to do practical lab work.
What does the course cover for batteries?
The battery module covers lithium-ion cell chemistry, pack assembly, BMS (Battery Management System) diagnostics, thermal safety, swapping station basics (relevant for Sun Mobility-style operations), and common failure repair for e-rickshaw and 2W packs. You also learn safe handling, IS 17017 charging standards, and how to test packs using basic instruments available in any Madurai workshop.
I stay near Anna Nagar, Madurai. Is the centre reachable?
Yes, the training centre is reachable from Anna Nagar, KK Nagar, Tallakulam, Goripalayam, and Bypass Road within 20-30 minutes by bus or two-wheeler. Town buses from Periyar bus stand and Mattuthavani connect most localities, and we also support weekend batches for learners commuting from Madurai South and surrounding towns like Thirumangalam.
What is the placement support after the course?
We provide placement assistance through our network of EV partners including TVS dealerships, e-rickshaw assemblers, charging operators, and the growing MSME EV service cluster around Madurai and Sivagangai. Support includes resume preparation, mock interviews, and direct referrals. Indicative starting salaries typically range from around 15,000 to 22,000 per month, with growth as you gain hands-on experience.
Can I do this course part-time along with my job or college?
Yes. We run weekend and evening batches specifically for working technicians, ITI students, and college learners from Thiagarajar, Velammal, and other Madurai institutions. The part-time format typically runs 3 to 4 months with practical lab sessions on Saturdays and Sundays, so you can continue your current job at a workshop or dealership while upskilling into EVs.
